About Arch Rivals

Arch Rivals is an exciting new, locally produced game show all about the history of St. Louis!

On Arch Rivals, three contestants test their knowledge of St. Louis' history, people, places, events, sports and media. The program is hosted by local radio personality and St. Louis native, Sam Prainito.

Arch Rivals is truly unique because it appeals to a wide demographic group, and incorporates several different types of game shows into one very entertaining and educational half hour!

The program would serve its community, which is required by the FCC of any television station, by providing high quality local programming that is entertaining, informative and educational.

Gameplay

The game play on Arch Rivals includes three distinct elements, the Qualifying Round, the Mini Games, and the Bonus Round.

Each program begins with a Qualifying Round in which one of three contestants qualifies to play one of several rotating Mini Games, all incorporating St. Louis history, for a prize or prizes.

The remaining contestants compete in another Qualifying Round, and two more Mini Games are played.

The two contestants with the most winnings advance to the Bonus Round.

Advertising, Sponsorships & Prizing

The prizing opportunities on Arch Rivals offer clients "in-show" exposure as part of the program content. When a contestant wins a prize and that prize is described, the home audience members vicariously win that prize along with the actual winner increasing their involvement in a client’s advertising message.In addition to traditional advertising during the program, the use of prizes on Arch Rivals would be a source of revenue for your station. This could be accomplished simply by requiring a promotional fee to be charged for participation.

The Mini Games

There are several rotating Mini Games used in Arch Rivals, and every game incorporates elements of St. Louis history. Examples of Mini Games include:

“Secret St. Louisan”, in which a well-known St. Louisan is shown in silhouette, and the contestant must ask a series of “yes” or “no” questions to determine their identity within a sixty second time limit. Several well-known St. Louisans have committed to appearing during this game.

“Made In St. Louis” involves three pairs of grocery items. The contestant is shown a pair of items at a time and must determine which of the two items is made in the St. Louis area. The contestant must correctly identify all three items to win.

“Four Corners”, features a game board divided into four squares. Each represents a category pertaining to St. Louis. Prizes are concealed behind each square. The contestant must pick a category and correctly answer a trivia question to reveal a prize. If the contestant answers a question incorrectly, they lose their accumulated prizes, however, the contestant may also quit after each question instead of risking their winnings.
